We checked out of our hotel to begin our journey to the best preserved medieval city of Bhaktapur. On the way we stopped to witness some cremations. What a lovely way to begin the day! There are platforms along the river where they burn the bodies, while the friends and family members watch. After, the ashes are dumped in the river, where they will be carried to the Ganges. We took pictures with some holy men who wanted a dollar for a picture.
